Binaural Beats

Binaural Beats are what happens when you take two low frequency sounds that are close in range to one another to create a third illusory sound. The two frequencies are distributed through the use of head phones so that one sound goes into one ear and the other sound into the other ear. What results is an illusory frequency that our brain perceives of a sound that makes up the difference between the two sounds, frequencies of 1500 hz and 1501 hz would create a 1 hz illusory sound that is not actually there. This illusory sound helps to activate certain brainwaves like Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta with Delta being the lowest of them all and is associated with deep sleep. I use Binaural Beats in both the creation of my work and when showing my work so that I can have the viewer go into an altered state of mind to change their perception. What follows is an example of Binaural Beats that I made using a delta wave frequency, Please listen to with headphones, speakers do not create the effect.
